Closing Date: 06/07/2024Job SummaryAs the Parts Maintenance Supervisor at MiWay Transit, you\'ll oversee procurement and maintain optimal inventory levels across multiple locations, including Central Parkway West Fleet Repair Facilities, Bodyshop, and Malton Facilities. Your role ensures the availability of supplies and equipment necessary for MiWay Transit and operational facilities. Additionally, you\'ll act as the Warranty Administrator, managing efficient warehousing, inventory accounts payable, agency archiving, and shipping/receiving operations.You\'ll supervise inventory staff, ensuring cost-effective operation of vehicle and facility inventory. Collaborating with various departments, you\'ll facilitate coordinated procurements, supporting project development, seasonal operations, and emergency requirements.Why Work for MiWay?

Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary Purpose: Provide supervisory and warehousing techniques for store management, ensuring parts, materials, and supplies are received, stored, and accounted for within corporate policies.
  • Daily Operations Management: Plan and allocate resources for smooth program operations, including stock control, receiving, distribution, and maintenance of store vehicles and equipment.
  • Off-site Warehousing: Manage the delivery, receipt, and stocking of large-scale inventory in off-site warehouses.
  • Budget and Business Plan: Assist in developing departmental budgets and business plans, identifying staffing needs and materials.
  • Policy and Procedure Alignment: Ensure policies and procedures align with changing standards and regulations, allowing for timely availability of parts and materials.
  • Project Coordination: Initiate, schedule, and coordinate special projects, prioritizing service-affecting failures and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with purchasing and other departments to address transportation, delivery, and procedural issues.
  • Inventory Management: Review and audit inventory reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct safety inspections and investigations, ensuring workplace health, safety, and cleanliness requirements are met.
  • Software Management: Participate in software updates and modules related to stores management.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise reporting staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, plus 5 years of directly related experience, including supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of supply chain concepts, inventory control theories, and Enterprise Asset Management Systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, and MS Office programs.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 86,858.00 - $ 115,812.00
