The Parts Counter staff is responsible for a variety of duties, which includes providing price quotations, checking inventory for product availability, providing delivery dates to customers, and verifying prices. You will receive and process orders by phone, e-mail, fax or in person. The Parts Counter Person prepares and maintains sales orders, customer lists and purchase orders with receipts. The right candidate will have great attention to detail and have strong parts lookup skills via parts manuals and web based electronic catalogues.
Job Duties
Effectively handle Parts inquiries in person, by phone, or email in a timely, helpful, and effective manner.
Selling parts to customers and building customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment.
Conduct and/or support the daily functions of our parts operation, including sourcing, ordering, following- up on backorders, inventory counts, etc.
Find appropriate part numbers for customers using provided catalogues.
Provide parts for service technicians.
Provide price quotes.
Check inventory for product availability.
Provide delivery dates to customers and verify prices.
Prepares and maintains parts orders and purchase orders with receipts.
Assist with shipping as required.
Report discrepancies to supervisor.
Create purchase requisitions.
Complete Case Construction training as required by dealership.
Maintains professional appearance.
Follow safety procedures and best practices to minimize workplace hazards.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of construction equipment parts and warehouse procedures.
Computer literacy, familiarity with Windows operating systems.
Knowledge of DIS Keystone/Quantum an asset.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Previous experience looking up Parts is required.
Ability to perform under pressure.
Ability to effectively engage customers and staff.
Ability to answer the phone in a friendly and courteous manner.
Willingness to assist other staff as appropriate and as workloads dictate.
Ability to work well with other Department, co-workers.
Work environment requires some lifting (up to 50 lbs), pushing, pulling, bending, walking, and standing.
