The Parts Advisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service by accurately identifying, sourcing, and dispensing automotive parts. This position involves building strong customer relationships, providing expert product knowledge, and ensuring efficient parts counter operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in-person and over the phone with professionalism.
Identify and recommend appropriate parts for repairs.
Process orders, returns, and payments accurately.
Advise customers and technicians on estimated costs and part arrival times, as needed.
Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
Keep parts department forms, menus and pricing guidelines up to date.
Ensure that all parts are labelled, inventoried, and assigned correctly.
Complete, and stay up to date with all dealership training requirements.
Keep up to date with products, accessories, prices, and key features of major competitors.
Ensure a clean, organized workspace and uphold a professional appearance.
Collaborate with team members to support overall dealership success.
Qualifications
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Organized, detail-oriented and conscientious
Proficient in computer systems and basic math
Ability to lift in over 50lbs repeatedly throughout a shift
Education & Experience
Previous automotive knowledge and experience preferred.
Parts Technician Certification is considered an asset but is not required.
High school diploma required
