The Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing all on-duty security personnel and ensuring that site operations run smoothly and professionally during their assigned shift. Stationed in the patrol vehicle, the Shift Manager conducts regular exterior patrols around the facility to maintain site integrity, support guards at all posts, and act as the main point of contact for any incidents or emergencies. This role combines leadership, field supervision, and active patrol duties.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support all guards on post, ensuring duties are carried out effectively.
Conduct regular exterior patrols around the perimeter, parking areas, and access roads using the patrol car.
Respond immediately to all incidents, alarms, or requests for assistance from guards or site management.
Ensure all security posts (main entrance, warehouse entrance, guardhouse, mobile) are properly staffed and covered.
Coordinate and assist with shift changes, post reliefs, and emergency procedures.
Communicate clearly with the client, site supervisors, and dispatch when required.
Review and collect all shift reports, incident reports, and activity logs.
Provide leadership, guidance, and on-the-spot training or feedback to team members.
Ensure adherence to safety and security policies across the site.
Qualifications
Valid Security Guard License and clean Driver's Abstract (required).
Minimum 2 years of security experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
Logistics Experience would be an asset.
Strong communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
Ability to lead by example and handle incidents calmly and professionally.
Comfortable operating a vehicle and conducting exterior patrols in all weather conditions.
Knowledge of report writing, radio communication, and site-specific procedures.
