We are seeking Part Time Security Guards with experience working at high profile sites. These sites provide a great opportunity to advance into more senior level roles such as Supervisors, Control Room Supervisors and Responders.We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.https://www.securitas.ca/careers/security-guardThe posting will remain open until filled.Position Overview:Wages: $19.86/hrShift timings: Friday and Saturday 2300-1100hrsRESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site. Monitor area and deter vagrants and unwanted individuals and redirect them away from the site.
• Perform metal detection screening of client employees and contractors before they are given access to restricted areas.
• Ensure individuals remove all items and objects from pockets, checking ankle areas for devices such as hidden USB devices. Removal of all metal objects is required.
• Inspect all items in container before screening employee, checking all objects for any sources of devices that could be used for recording or access information through computer systems.
• Enforce security screening protocols and denying entry to anyone that is non-compliant.
• Work in isolated areas ensuring all sensitive information is kept confidential.
• Use radio communication to contact shift supervisors in the event of an emergency or issue with client staff or contractors.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Responsibilities vary from site to site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Security experience preferred. Customer service experience in hospitality is a strong asset.
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• Must be able to work in an isolated environment. Cell phones are not permitted while on your post.
• Ability to travel to the site via transit or your own vehicle.
• Must be able to meet requirements for a Reliability Clearance through the Government of Canada.
