Overview:

Paladin Security is seeking a professional, customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at Gore Meadows Library for a temporary part-time position.

As a Paladin Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for staff, patrons, and visitors. You'll provide a strong uniformed presence, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain order in one of Brampton's busiest public spaces.

This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for community engagement, safety, and exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a visible security presence throughout the library to deter prohibited activities (e.g., loitering, trespassing). Perform regular patrols inside and outside the facility to ensure safety and compliance with library policies. Monitor noise levels and ensure a quiet study atmosphere for all patrons. De-escalate conflicts and respond calmly and professionally to disturbances. Write detailed incident reports documenting emergency and daily activities. Respond to alarms and emergencies promptly, maintaining professionalism and minimizing disruption. Control access by monitoring the entrance and authorizing visitors, staff, and contractors. Liaise with emergency services (police, fire, paramedics) as required. Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of security experience or in a related field. Valid Ontario Security Guard License. WSIB-approved First Aid & CPR Level C certification. COVID-19 double vaccination (proof required). Vulnerable Sector Check (must be eligible to obtain). Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English (oral and written). Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
