Part time pharmacist
Two weekdays per month on a regular schedule, e.g. every second Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday
Scheduled hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Hourly rate: 55 to 60 per hour based on experience
No OAT or methadone services are provided at this location.
Key responsibilities
Provide patient-centred dispensing and clinical assessment in a community pharmacy setting
Perform minor ailment assessments and prescribe within the pharmacist scope in Ontario
Provide vaccinations and injections in accordance with current standards and regulations
Complete professional services (e.g. MedsCheck, POP, etc.) as appropriate
Counsel patients on safe and effective use of prescription and non-prescription medications
Identify and resolve drug therapy problems, including drug interactions, duplications, and adherence issues
Communicate with prescribers, other health care providers, and patients in a professional and timely way
Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the pharmacy software and patient records
Ensure compliance with all standards of practice, legislation and policies including OCP, NAPRA, and Ontario Ministry of Health requirements.
Ensure strict compliance with Queensville Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
Support day to day pharmacy operations including administrative duties.
Qualifications
Licensed pharmacist in Ontario in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A)
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited program
Current professional liability insurance that meets OCP requirements
Authorized to provide injections and immunizations in Ontario
Demonstrated experience with minor ailment assessment and prescribing
Comfortable applying the full pharmacist scope of practice in Ontario
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence based practice
Excellent communication and counselling skills with patients and prescribers
Ability to work independently without other pharmacy staff present
Experience with paper-less Kroll is a requirement
Previous community pharmacy experience in Ontario is required
