Looking For:

Hard working and motivated primary school teacher to add to our growing team. Teacher will be required to support students with homework from school as well as plan individual and group lessons to help with early reading and math skills. Candidate must be willing to learn our curriculum and work as part of a team. Teachers will be required to have strong classroom management skills while working with children ages 5-7. Candidate must be able to implement monthly, weekly and daily lesson plans and be willing to learn the Little Scholars curriculum. We are looking for someone who is creative and can think outside of the box, who believes in the importance of education and is eager and excited to help students. Candidate must have very strong clear English skills and have teaching experience. Teacher will be teaching an afterschool reading and homework club (SK-2). Working hours are from 2:45-6:15 or 6:30 with the possibility of extra hours in needed. This is a contract position from Immediately - December 20, however will extend to June 13 for the right candidate. Option for full time summer hours from 9-4:30. (can be negotiated for the right candidate)

Must be willing to commit to the minimum contract period of Oct-Dec

We believe teaching children through experiences they are familiar with and can relate to is the most practical and natural way for a student to be successful in their education. Our program is very unique and geared towards independent learning. Each student works at their own pace and teachers are required to plan their lessons accordingly. We believe students need to want to learn and be interested in what they are learning about. This is a process that cannot be forced yet needs to be instilled and if done correctly learning becomes fun and enjoyable. At little Scholars Academy, our goal is to help students become confident with their academics, instill a love for learning and continue to help them on their academic journey!

Salary: $22.00-25.00/hour - with optional health benefits

Onsite Free Parking and bus stop is right in front of the Centre on both sides

Expected hours: 19 - 23 per week
