Key responsibilities:
Energy, enthusiasm and commitment to aquatics programming, including water safety, swimming lessons, open swims and more
Adhere to BGC Hamilton-Halton Policies & Procedures
Provide and maintain consistent supervision of aquatics participants
Ensure that all equipment is functional and is in safe working condition
Complete appropriate administrative tasks in a timely manner
Create and facilitate aquatics activities as assigned in additional to supporting and mentoring junior aquatic staff
Help support skill development of junior staff through assisting to plan and implement training as well as providing ongoing support
Help ensure the safety and security of the members and assist in responding to critical incidents as outlined in organizations policies and procedures
Maintains professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, and parents
Communicate with parents and caregivers with respect to swimmers' successes and challenges
Communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates
Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership skills

The ideal candidate will have:
A commitment to the Clubs mission, Vision and Core Values
Minimum 18 years of age
Standard First Aid/CPR Level C, National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor & Lifesaving Instructor. Additional aquatics certifications such as national lifeguard instructor, examiner, etc. considered an asset
Two years of experience lifeguarding and instructing swimming lessons
Strong supervision, facilitation and lesson-planning skills
Good decision making and problem-solving skills
Adaptability, can work under high pressure situations
