We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our team as the Employment Assistance Services (EAS) Coordinator. Job Responsibilities:

• Office Oversight and Administration : Efficiently manage day-to-day operations of the Fort Nelson office to ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality service delivery to clients.
• Employment and Education Assistance : Provide personalized, solution-oriented support for clients seeking employment or further education, guiding them toward appropriate opportunities and resources.
• Case File Management : Oversee case file administration, ensuring accurate intake assessments, evaluations, and continuous monitoring of client progress in the Accountability and Resource Management System (ARMS).
• Client Meetings : Conduct meetings with clients to gather detailed information on their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their goals.
• Needs Assessment : Identify and assess clients' barriers to employment, and develop tailored strategies to help clients overcome obstacles, such as preparing for job searches, writing resumes, and excelling in interviews.
• Resource Compilation and Maintenance : Compile and regularly update a collection of career, labour market, and employment readiness resources to support clients in accessing job openings, understanding entry/skill requirements, and gaining relevant occupational information.
• Referral and Networking : Facilitate client referrals to additional services or support in the local community, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive assistance for their needs.
• Community Engagement : Actively participate in job fairs and employment-related events in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and local First Nation communities to connect clients with potential employers and career opportunities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education : Minimum Grade 12 education. A post-secondary degree or qualification in career counseling, career education (CCDP), or a related field is preferred, with at least two (2) years of experience in employment counseling and/or case file management. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Travel : Some travel may be required to our offices in Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and local First Nation communities.
• Customer Service : Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service with a client-centered approach.
• Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Goal-Oriented : A commitment to achieving goals and objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
• Critical Thinking and Discretion : Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, along with excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Standards : Adherence to professional standards and best practices in career counseling and client management.
• Background Check : A clean Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, will be required upon hiring.
