Reporting to the Directors, Health, Wellness & Accessibility Services, the Counsellor will have a specialization in anti-oppressive counselling and healing resources.
In the role of Counsellor for Health, Wellness, and Accessibility services, duties and responsibilities include the delivery of clinical mental health assessments, counselling intervention and case management to a diverse student population (including full time, part time, international students, students with disabilities and non-traditional student populations). Adhering to ethical standards and practices, as well as relevant legislation, the Counsellor provides individualized personal counselling, resources and mental health programming that encourages student development and retention. Employing strong case management skills to identify, assess, assist, and monitor students at risk, the Counsellor will consult regularly with colleagues and work co-operatively with students, teaching faculty, staff, and administration towards achieving College objectives and contribute positively to the Health, Wellness & Accessibility Services team.
