We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to assume the position of Library Assistant with the Community Services Department to work casual hours.

  • performs clerical duties necessary to facilitate day-to-day operations;
  • registers patrons for library programs;
  • helps patrons with public access computers;
  • processes materials being taken out and returned;
  • maintaining attractive and informative book displays.

Completion of grade 12 is the minimum education requirement, although, some post-secondary education is preferred. The position requires the individual to be well-spoken, have a varied reading background, and be in possession of strong office skills and basic computer literacy. Library experience is preferred, as is an individual who has demonstrated knowledge of current subjects, authors, and titles for public queries. The incumbent must have exceptional customer service skills, be able to function as a team player, and possess a desire to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
