Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a registered non-profit organization (South Delta BC). Our purpose is to provide education, rescue, rehabilitation and adoption services to companion parrots.

We are currently recruiting for a personable, energetic and hardworking individual to assist with parrot care at our South Delta location.

Primary Function:

The Shelter Assistant is responsible for feeding, cleaning, and socializing (time permitting) with the birds as well as care of the facility.

Job Duties includes but not limited to:

Cleaning cages, feeding and watering the parrots General cleaning - Vacuum, wiping down surfaces, dishes, laundry Administer medications Toy making and enrichment

Knowledge:

Bird/animal knowledge would be very helpful but full training provided - must love animals

Experience:

Must be 18 years or older Must be able to stand for length of shift, lift 25 lbs. if needed
Note: This position is not ideal for anyone who may have allergies or low noise tolerance. This is also a physically demanding/fast paced role. You will be on your feet and on the move for the duration of your shift.

Due to our location, transportation is required as we are not accessible by public transit.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
