Position Summary:

This position assists in the day-to-day operations of the School of Media & Performing Arts in regards to computers running classrooms and the media lab as well as the basic running of the Media Tech room with the distribution of film equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Updates, rollouts and troubleshoots computer images under the guidance of the Media & IT Specialist and Chair.
  • Maintains film equipment and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assists Media & IT Specialist and Chair in researching, evaluating new purchases as well as receiving, cataloguing, and putting into use new film and computer equipment.
  • Provides guidance to the lab assistant students in the Tech Room on SOP and use of Cheqroom.
  • Runs the LED wall system and UnReal engine software including content coordination and, at times, creation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Three-year diploma, degree, or post-graduate certificate in a media or IT field.
  • One year of experience in either a practical media field or a practical IT field.
  • Base working knowledge of LED technology.
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Able to lift up to 44lbs on a weekly/monthly basis such as computers. Some accessing of small confined spaces (under desks) is required.
  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College\'s priorities on diversity and equity.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
