Position Overview Parking and Transportation Services within Ancillary Services is seeking two (2) Recurring Part time Parking Enforcement Officers. This position reports to the Business Operations Supervisor, Parking and Transportation Services. This position is responsible for the enforcement of the Parking and Traffic Regulations on University property including the Main, South and Spy Hill campuses. Based on availability, the position can be scheduled between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, 7 days per week. Some periods of high work load and activity. Must be willing to work in all weather conditions. Good customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult customers is an important part of this position. Position Description Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Issuing infraction ticket for vehicles which violate the parking regulations
  • Assist with traffic control and Motor Assistance Program
  • Act as an ambassador for the University by providing assistance, information and directions to visitors, faculty, staff and students
  • Using the Parking and Transportation Policies and Regulations, understand and interpret regulations as they apply to the issuance of parking infraction tickets.
  • Provide enforcement of regulations in a fair and consistent manner
  • Understands and complies with the requirements of the University\'s Occupational Health and Safety Policy
  • Ensures that all work conducted is in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and other health and safety legislation as applicable
  • Based on availability, the position can be scheduled between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, 7 days per week
  • Some periods of high work load and activity
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Minimum completion Grade 12 equivalency
  • Ability to use computerized equipment in an effective manner
  • Good customer service skills
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical abilities
  • Capability of walking for several hours per shift
  • Must be able to operate a University vehicle: A valid Class 5 driver\'s license (cannot be a graduated license) with proven good driving record (abstract required). Driver\'s abstract must be provided at time of hiring
