The Parking Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining order and safety in public parking areas. This position involves monitoring parking regulations, issuing citations for violations, and ensuring compliance with local laws. Duties
Patrol designated parking areas to monitor compliance with parking regulations.
Issue citations for parking violations in accordance with local laws and ordinances.
Provide information to the public regarding parking rules, regulations, and available services.
Respond to inquiries and resolve conflicts related to parking issues.
Maintain accurate records of citations issued and prepare reports as required.
Collaborate with law enforcement and other city departments as necessary.
Assist in the development of educational materials to promote awareness of parking regulations.
Requirements
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with the public and team members.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various situations.
Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods while patrolling assigned areas.
A valid driver's license may be required depending on the location of the position.
High school diploma or equivalent is generally required. This role is essential for ensuring a well-regulated parking environment, contributing positively to community safety and accessibility.
