Parking Enforcement Officers

This position reports to the Parking Manager, and is responsible for the enforcement of the Parking and Traffic Regulations on University property including the Main, Foothills and Spy Hill campuses. Based on availability, the position can be scheduled between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, 7 days per week. Some periods of high work load and activity. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Good customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult customers is an important part of this position. Must have Class 5 non graduated license.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

(job functions include but are not limited to):

Issue infraction ticket for vehicles which violate the parking regulations. Assist with traffic control and Motor Assistance Program. Provide enforcement of regulations in a fair and consistent manner. Act as an ambassador for the University by providing assistance, information and directions to visitors, faculty, staff and students. Understand and comply with the expectations of the University's Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and applicable Faculty/Departmental/Unit specific health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure that all work conducted is in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and other health and safety legislation as applicable.

Qualifications / Requirements:



Minimum completion Grade 12 equivalency. Ability to use computerized equipment in an effective manner. Good customer service skills. Ability to make consistent and reliable decisions. Demonstrate basic mechanical abilities. Must be able to walk up to 7.5 hours per shift outdoors.
Must be able to operate a University vehicle and have a valid Class 5 drivers license with less than 7 demerits (graduated and probationary licenses are not permitted); driver's abstract must be provided at time of hiring.
