Job Description

T he City of Cote Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33 000. The City prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently looking to hire a Park Leader for the Recreation and Leisure Department.


Schedule



Monday to Friday, June to August (the supervisor is required to begin his employment earlier by a few weeks). Approximately 38-40 hou rs a week.


Key Responsability

The Park Leader- Day Camp is responsible for administering the Camp in a safe setting. He supervises 30 to 60 campers and 3 to 10 employees. The jobholder must participate and help develop and lead some of the training camp workshops. He also carries out mid-season and end-of-season performance appraisals of his employees, creates the weekly work schedule, and, when required, takes any necessary steps vis-a-vis a staff member. The jobholder must also provide liaison with the participants' parents, ensure that the Camp is closed down correctly, carry out an inventory of camp equipment, and prepare various reports for his supervisor.


Qualifications and education



Be enrolled as a student in a university-level program in a related field; 2 years of summer camp experience; Bilingualism (French and English are spoken and written); Good communicator with a demonstrated enthusiasm for working with youth; Ability to work in a team setting; Organizational skills; Can adapt, open-mindedly, to various unforeseen situations.
