Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province.For more information on the department view our website:About Our OpportunityAs the Student Camping Park Attendant, you are responsible for assisting with the seasonal operation and maintenance of designated provincial camping parks.Primary AccountabilitiesEnsuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and department policies and as an active participant in implementing the department Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Programs.Qualifications and ExperienceYou are a student who is currently in high school (minimum grade 10) or a post-secondary education program and returning to school in the Fall or next applicable semester.You must possess a Valid Driver\'s License. The ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to work independently is necessary for this role.Experience in building and grounds maintenance; ride on mowers, push mowers, string trimmers and knowledge of cleaning methods and sanitation requirements.Assets include customer service training/experience; good general knowledge of local history and points of interest; knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and experience with internet, email, and web-based applications.Your resume and cover letter should clearly outline how you meet the stated qualifications and position requirements.We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checksWorking Conditions70 hours bi-weekly; Duties often require working irregularly scheduled hours, weekends, evenings and holidays.
