Position Summary

St. Augustine's Parish in Dundas is seeking a hands-on and reliable Maintenance & Site Manager to oversee the care, safety, and upkeep of our church buildings and grounds. This position reports to the Pastor and is a part-time position requiring 16-20 hours per week, including some weekends to support parish needs. The ideal candidate takes initiative, communicates well, and values working in a faith-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on church facilities and equipment Schedule and supervise contractors for repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Monitor and maintain safety systems (fire protection, emergency exits, defibrillators) Oversee site cleanliness, landscaping, and snow removal needs Maintain inventory and reorder supplies for cleaning staff, kitchens, and parish events Respond to facility requests from parish staff and report updates to the Pastor (e.g. opening buildings for daily worship, monitoring room rentals, etc.) Complete seasonal and event-specific tasks (e.g. hanging Christmas decorations, setting up tables) Keep accurate logs and maintenance records as per diocesan guidelines Provide occasional weekend support as required

Qualifications

Prior experience in facilities or building maintenance preferred Capable of safely using hand and power tools, and performing physical tasks Familiar with basic landscaping and snow removal equipment Organized, proactive, and able to work independently Comfortable working in a church environment and supporting its mission Possesses a valid G Driver's License and steel-toed safety boots
