  • Manage and prioritize an assigned caseload of prohibited action complaints
  • Review files to identify preliminary issues and triage files as appropriate
  • Obtain information, submissions and other supporting documentations from parties related to prohibited action complaints
  • Initiate and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct legal research on a variety of subjects to identify appropriate statutes, precedent, or policy and present opinions and findings to legal counsel in legal briefs or memoranda
  • Assist in creating and maintaining departmental policies and procedures
  • Assign legal administrative work and provide administrative supervision and guidance on legal procedures, policies, and practices to departmental support staff

  • Independently plan, organize, and prioritize a demanding workload in a changing legal and corporate environment
  • Take responsibility for project/legal files to ensure all tasks are completed
  • Mentor and provide guidance to departmental support staff
  • Communicate accurately and effectively, both orally and in writing, using clear and concise language, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Research and prepare accurate chronologies and summaries of facts by analyzing documents to determine relevance
  • Provide knowledge in preparing cases for administrative hearings
  • Stay current with legal policy and procedure changes
Your background and experience
  • A two-year paralegal diploma
  • A minimum of three years of paralegal experience
  • Working knowledge of litigation or administrative tribunal practices and Rules of Evidence
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Important to knowBefore we can finalize any offer of employment, you must:
