Position Title: Palletizer Operator

Summary of Position:

The successful candidate will be able to multitask running the labeller and palletizer knowing how to prioritize to keep packaging running. Communicate between shipping and packaging, be able to proficiently troubleshoot areas and communicate those issues to lead hand. Be able to unload and load trailers to keep up in the supply of cheps when they come in, Able to load and unload pallets from the palletizer. Organize labels and rework when it comes out. Be able to set up the next shift for success, and leave there area clean.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Safely operate the Palletizer and Wrapper
• Use the Warehouse Management System and COLO\'s to accurately record production
• Achieve a pace as to keep up to shipping and production
• Communication with both Packaging and Shipping and working as part of a team
• Proper documentation of product movements
• Properly complete all required documentation
• Maintain good housekeeping in the area
• Competent forklift skills and operations
• Maintains good housekeeping in the area.
• Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support data analysis.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Must have proven history of safe work habits.
• Familiar OCAP and basic computer skills.
• High School Graduate
• Able to exercise good judgment in making decisions relative to the operation of a production line.
• Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.
• Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of WHMIS, plant sanitation requirements, industrial chemicals, and HACCP and AIB Gold standards.
• Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment
• Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
• Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and SAP data entry.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills..
• Must be willing to work in a team based atmosphere.
• Familiarity with in process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database.
• Able to work in fluctuating temperature environment (extreme cold to warm)

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

• Complete the internal Forklift, Zamboni, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift
• Follow LOTO procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Physically capable of performing all required duties including heavy lifting (up to 50lbs).
