As a Painter Lead, you'll be expected to
supervise daily field operations
, maintain project timelines, ensure safety and quality standards, and proactively address challenges that arise during residential and commercial projects. Your leadership will be vital in guiding the team, solving problems in real time, and ensuring our clients receive top-tier results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coordinate, and participate in painting and drywall installation/finishing projects
Assign tasks to crew members and ensure work is performed efficiently and to high standards
Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and timelines
Train and mentor new and existing team members in painting techniques, drywall methods, safety protocols, and proper material handling
Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring compliance with client expectations and company standards
Solve jobsite problems proactively with minimal supervision
Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients
Maintain accurate job logs, materials usage, and time tracking
Enforce and uphold OSHA safety standards and company policies on all job sites
Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are properly used and maintained
Requirements
Proven experience
as a painter and drywall installer (minimum 5 years)
Leadership experience
on construction or renovation job sites (minimum 2 years)
Solid understanding of
various painting techniques
(spraying, rolling, brushing, etc.) and
drywall processes
(hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing)
Ability to
read and interpret blueprints and scopes of work
Strong
critical thinking and problem-solving
skills
High adaptability in changing jobsite conditions and project scope
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to lead by example
Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on craftsmanship and meeting deadlines
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
CSAM certifications
Construction handling certifications
Familiarity with digital tools for time tracking, project updates, and communication (e.g., ClickUp, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar)
