JOB DESCRIPTION




AAA Canada is currently looking for a Painter to bring their expertise to our team. Utilizing predetermined setups and operating methods, adjusts and operates a variety of automated and/or conventional equipment to prepare surfaces and spray and/or brush any specified decorative, protective, and specialty coatings to aircraft interiors, exteriors, parts, assemblies, and tools to required specifications.

Responsibilities



Works in conformance with work orders, manufacturing plans, specifications, quality requirements, and established safety and operating procedures. Documents work, in-process rework and nonconformance rework in accordance with established company procedures. Applies part markings, stencils, and protective overcoats as specified. Ensures surfaces are prepared and performs all necessary surface preparation and masking, as applicable, prior to application of subsequent coatings. Mixes deliverable materials in accordance with required ratios and processes. Selects, sets up, adjusts, and cleans all necessary application equipment in order to meet quality requirements. Detects faulty tools and equipment, and takes corrective action in accordance with shop practices and procedures. Applies conversion coatings, primers, topcoats and other specialty coatings as instructed in the manufacturing planning, specifications and quality requirements. Sets up and adjusts material handling equipment to hold and position parts or tools. Understands all related quality requirements, assesses the finished product and performs the necessary in-process corrections, as applicable and as instructed in the work instructions and process specifications. Applies required defect fillers to restore reworked surfaces. Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.

Skills and Qualifications



Ability to meet physical demands (upper body- wrists, elbows, shoulder and neck) Understanding of chemical compositions & mixing reactions Knowledge of proper PPE At least 3-5 years of automotive, industrial or aerospace painting systems Bodywork experience - prepping, block sanding, prime & paint Strong attention to details, acute eyesight Works well in a team environment Interprovincial designation - Red Seal in auto, industrial or aero
