7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

The River East Transcona School Division invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Painter. Under the general direction of the structural supervisor, the Painter performs all duties required under the designated trade (Journeyman's Certificate/Paper).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Paints and patches schools, classrooms, and other facilities both interior and exterior Finishes and paints custom manufactured divisional furniture and fixtures. Mixes, matches, and blends all paints and colours. Installs painted related materials such as wallpaper and graphics. Provides assistance to supervisor on material and labour estimates on specific projects when requested. Assists in the training of summer temporaries (painters). Refinishes all furniture and fixtures. Maintains adequate inventory of material pertaining to his/her field Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

Qualifications

Journeyperson Certificate "Red Seal" in painting required Minimum Five (5) years' experience in painting field Must hold a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License with a clear driving record Must provide a current driver's abstract Practice correct, safe-driving habits All staff are required to complete computerized training modules upon hire External applicants must supply a Criminal Record Search, a cleared Child Abuse Registry check upon hire.

*Hours may be adjusted to meet operational requirements during winter, spring, and summer breaks.
