PURPOSE:We are looking for a skilled Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paints for different needs, and applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality.REPORTS TO:This position reports to the Director, Construction, Blackbush.RESPONSIBILITIES:Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces such as walls, ceilings, and trim to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
- Painting: Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Ensure smooth and even application to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Mixing Paints: Match and mix paint to required colors and consistency.
- Repairs: Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and overalls.
- Maintenance: Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working order.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including contractors and clients, to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
- Documentation: Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and any changes made during the project.
- Finish Quality: Assess the smoothness, evenness, and absence of defects like streaks, drips, or bubbles.
- Adherence to Specifications: Measure how well the painter follows the projects color, texture, and material specifications.
- Client Satisfaction: Use feedback and reviews from clients to gauge satisfaction with the final result.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Painter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Skills: Proficient in using painting tools such as brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Ability to mix and match paints to achieve the desired color and consistency.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and carry heavy equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
- Communication: Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
