There is a position available for a Painter at Facilities. All applications must be completed online via the website and will be accepted until noon, October 10, 2025.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Painter, this position is responsible for painting School District facilities and equipment. Oversees the work of assigned helpers.
Hours of Work:
(8) hours per day

Work Year Base:
Twelve (12) months per year
Commencing Salary:
$32.89/hr
Duties to be assigned include:
Prepares for and paints School District facilities and equipment by:
a. Following work orders assigned by Supervisor(s).
b. Responding to emergency telephone requests for touch up of facilites caused by vandalism. Performs preventative maintenance by performing prep and touch up painting of School District facilities and equipment.
Organizes work day under the direction of the Supervisor(s) by location, priority, and work site availability.
Contacts other trades and District staff to ensure the work site is ready.
Follows proper safety rules and standards by ensuring the worksite is safe and secure, that equipment and vehicles are operated according to set standards.
Ensures the safe handling or hazardous materials (WHMIS) and the safe use and operation of equipment and hand tools.
Informs the Supervisor(s) and/or site Administrative Officer(s) of vandalized equipment or property.
Performs other job related duties as directed by the Supervisor(s)
Qualifications:
Interprovincial Red Seal Certified Painter and Decorator or 2+ years relevant experience
Class 5 driver's license
Acceptable driver's abstract
Ability to work independently and set priorities
Willingness and ability to paint at heights
W.H.M.I.S. Certificate and other online safety training provided by the District to be completed within the probationary period
Other applicable safety training and/or certifications as provided by the District to be completed as needed
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a team
Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employment
