Position OverviewReporting to the Production Manager, the Painter position works under our construction division completing restoration work for both residential and commercial properties.Job Dutiesxe2x97x8f Setup and tear-down of job related materials including poly containment and drop sheets as required to accommodate work xe2x97x8f Obtain color match for various surfaces xe2x97x8f Apply paint and/or lacquer to multiple surfaces, to include but not limited to, drywall, ceilings, baseboards, casings, doors, etc xe2x97x8f Smooths surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare them for painting xe2x97x8f Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler xe2x97x8f Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint thatmatches specified colorsxe2x97x8f Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting xe2x97x8f Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windowswith masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during paintingxe2x97x8f Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers xe2x97x8f Simulates wood grain, marble, brick or tiles effects xe2x97x8f Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects xe2x97x8f Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level xe2x97x8f Maintain a clean and hazard free job site xe2x97x8f Maintain and clean equipment as required xe2x97x8f Provide excellent customer service xe2x97x8f Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines xe2x97x8f Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information xe2x97x8f Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and proceduresto support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipmentxe2x97x8f Comply with all Belfor xe2x80x8bpolicies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements xe2x97x8f Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may, or are affecting completion of job to the appropriate person xe2x97x8f This role could be required to act as a xe2x80x9cleadxe2x80x9d periodically as designated by their manager xe2x97x8f Attend all Belfor xe2x80x8bsponsored training coursesQualificationsxe2x97x8f 2+ years experience in related field xe2x97x8f Construction / Restoration / Insurance experience preferred xe2x97x8f Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices xe2x97x8f Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor's xe2x80x8bvehicle policy xe2x97x8f Ability to work within a team or independently as needed xe2x97x8f Strong written and verbal communication skills xe2x97x8f Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment xe2x97x8f Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience xe2x97x8f Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested xe2x97x8f Periodic travel may be required xe2x97x8f Criminal Record CheckPhysical Demandsxe2x97x8f Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time) xe2x97x8f Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time) xe2x97x8f Access and mobility in tight spaces xe2x97x8f Fit Testing - half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required xe2x97x8f Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically xe2x97x8f Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneelingBELFOR (Canada) Inc. is an inclusive and equal opportunity employer.
