We are a small ISO-registered medical device manufacturer located in east Toronto. We are experiencing multiple years of double-digit sales growth and are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:



We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented hands-on Packer/Shipper to join our dynamic manufacturing team at Raz Design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing shipments of our products, ensuring that they are packed, documented, and dispatched accurately and in a timely manner. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:



Pack Chairs and accessories securely and efficiently to prevent damage during transit. Properly label packages for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements
Coordinate outbound shipments, whether by land, sea or air, including the selection of carriers, request of quotes, scheduling of pickups, preparation of shipping documents (including proforma invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, customs declarations for international shipments, FedEx, UPS labels for local shipments and shipping manifests)

Ensure shipments meet export regulations to avoid delays and penalties Oversee the loading of containers, ensuring accuracy and safety Inspect and verify outgoing shipments against shipping checklists
Use container loading software to create optimal loading plan for outbound containers

Maintain records of shipments and inventory using manual or computerized systems
Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of products for shipment

Ensure accurate measurement of all accessories and skid count for all air shipments

Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to verify accuracy and address any discrepancies prior to dispatch Maintain and update On Time Delivery (OTD) daily reports at shift start meeting Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move products as needed and ensure safe handling of materials Maintain an organized and clean workspace to promote safety and efficiency Monitor packaging stock level and update KANBAN / ISSA board as required Collaborate with other departments to resolve shipping issues and enhance processes Assist in inventory management, including cycle counting and stock rotation Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Additional duties as required

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics/transportation preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in hands on packing, coordinating import / export logistics, arranging domestic and international shipments via multiple carriers with ocean, air cargo, and ground transport Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs Experience with SAP B1 and Container loading software is an asset Familiarity with shipping software and databases is a plus Basic math skills and attention to detail are essential for handling inventory and shipments accurately Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Minimum I year forklift driving and certification required

Physical demands and abilities:



Regularly lift and / or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs

Required to stand / walk / stoop (a posture in which the head and shoulders are bent forward and downward) over an eight-hour period

Frequent bending, crouching, and twisting to load and unload containers and skids

Continuous lifting, sorting and packing tasks

Intermittent periods of keyboarding when entering shipping information into the computer
