Position Summary:

As a Packaging Trainer, it is imperative that you collaborate with various departments in the production process and closely coordinate with lead hands and supervisors to achieve the training requirements and needs of the shift. Must be able to be to work flexible hours for the shifts when required. Facilitation, evaluation, & Troubleshooting skills are an asset, must be able to coordinate and schedule training and maintain training documentation. Help in Various departments of packaging while upkeeping and in developing and maintaining recipes to achieve optimal performance according to OAC standards. Be able to assess and monitor training needs and ensure that they are met efficiently

Essential duties:

• Coordination, monitoring, and assessment of all operator OJT (On-the-Job Training) occurring in their assigned area.
• Training experience is an asset.
• Development, maintenance of, and continuous improvement of training outlines, documentation, SOP-based training materials, data, tools, evaluation/assessment materials, and processes.
• Support and delivery of other training initiatives (eg. GMP, Safety, new hire orientation, etc\xe2\x80\xa6) as determined and assigned by the Training Supervisor.
• Scheduling of employee training and auditing skill set within the packaging department.
• Maintenance of training records.
• Give constructive feedback whether positive or negative. Keep a positive attitude and desire to help people develop skills and stay motivated.
• Work with newer operators to increase skill level and understanding.
• Instill the importance of CI and ownership to the operators and get them working with the maintenance team. Ambassador of OAC (Operator Asset Care) and MDI2.
• Assist in all packaging development, new products, and materials.
• Emphasize standard work and recipe control to operators and help maintain them (MDI2).
• Monday thru Friday - 8 hours unless training a new operator.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies):

• Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
• Must be familiar with product flow through the packaging area with an understanding of the entire packaging department; freezer tunnel to the warehouse.
• Have worked in packaging for at least 2 years.
• Must be qualified in at least 2 operator\'s positions in the packaging area
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS), real-time management, and SAP is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
• Physically capable of performing all required duties, including heavy and/or repetitive lifting (up to 40lbs).
• Able to work with minimal supervision and must have computer skills.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education.
• Needs to have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to instill them into the operators.
• Proven history of safe work habits. Good working relationship with maintenance.
• Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
• Flexibility to work on shift with new employees if needed
• Complete in Class, Hands-on training, and evaluate for training effectiveness.
