Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively plans, coordinates and organizes the storage and packaging of product in the packaging department and cooler
Ensures cooler, packaging and inventory personnel fulfil their responsibilities for workplace hygiene and organization, inventory stock counts, rotation of inventory and the movement of inventory
Communicates harvesting SKU priorities with packaging line workflow planning to ensure production line efficiencies are met while also meeting customer delivery requirements
Supervises the general conduct of associates
Ensures the smooth operation of all packaging operations including slice operations, bulk scaling, packaging line operations, tray fill, box forming and sanitation activities
Ensures proper loading of products, including order accuracy and product temperature verification
Ensures inbound and outbound distribution activities are coordinated
Collaborates with harvest to ensure product quality meets customer expectations
Maintains cooler rotation, cold chain activities, internal and/or external rejections and associated product segregation and disposal
Issues corrective action and/or discipline when warranted with the assistance of Human Resources
Assists the Human Resources Department with building a focused team of consistently trained associates
Acts as a positive resource, providing motivation, support and guidance to all associates
In support to the Manager:
Helps to create and maintain departmental schedules for Packaging and Distribution Associates
Helps to review and process all requests for shift switches, vacation, leaves of absences, etc.
Helps to ensure staff is properly utilized to minimize overtime and ensure the fair and equitable assignment of hours of work among associates
Provides training, support, mentoring and leadership development to departmental associates
Assists in the documentation of training records
Ensures SQF/Food Safety policies are adhered to by Packaging and Distribution Associates
Ensures packaging equipment sanitation is properly executed, creating a food safe environment
Ensures SQF/Food Safety records are properly completed and deviations are investigated and resolved
Facilitates improvement activities with other department managers and area supervisors
Assists with the development of data management systems to monitor, control, and improve processes
Provides meaningful recommendations for continual improvement or innovation
Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Reports unsafe conditions immediately to direct report or a member of the safety team
Reports all incidents, injuries, or near misses immediately to direct report or a safety advocate
Cooperates in the Early & Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation
Embraces and supports the Highline culture and values, acting as brand ambassador at all times
Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity
Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in food distribution or food processing management required.
Previous supervisory experience.
Proven leadership in a dynamic production facility processing various SKU's with changing output demands.

Hours of Work:
5 to 6 days / week.
Approximately 30 to 60 hours per week / 8 to 14 hours per day.
Public holidays/weekends as scheduled.
Daily shift start and end times for associates vary based on production. Days Start approximately 4:00am to 2:30pm. Afternoons start approximately 3:00pm to 1:30am.
