About the Job
Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead a team that's helping build a greener planet? We're looking for a Packaging Shift Supervisor to join our team at our Arthur Compost Facility in Arthur, ON.
Reporting to the Packaging Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our packaging operations running smoothly and efficiently. You'll oversee a team of 5-10 dedicated production workers, ensuring safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible operations every day. This is a permanent, full-time position on the afternoon shift. The afternoon shift runs from 2:30 pm-1 am, Monday-Thursday. The starting rate for the position is $29.93/hour, moving to $34.36/hour after 1 year of service. There is a $0.50/hour shift premium for working afternoons.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage pr oduction schedules to keep up with sales and inventory needs.
Oversee all shipping activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and quality of outgoing products.
Conduct regular equipment inspections to maintain peak performance.
Gains insight and knowledge into the efficient operation of the site, by consulting co- workers and supervisors and attending training and development courses and seminars. Make recommendations for improvement where practical.
Meets with management to review and interpret Quality Control reports, and make necessary process adjustments to maintain quality and specifications of production.
Takes a lead role in promoting safety and environmental awareness training.
Mentor, motivate, and guide your team to achieve excellence and develop their skills.
Here's What You Need
Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent level of education (college diploma in Business Administration is an asset).
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Oracle experience is an asset
Minimum 2-3 years of plant operations and/or supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to plan and oversee the routine workload of a small team and provide constructive performance feedback.
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Valid G Class Driver's License required.
