Packaging Operator

Job Description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring that all beverages are efficiently and accurately packaged according to company standards. This includes operating and maintaining packaging equipment, ensuring product quality during the packaging process, and meeting production goals in a timely and safe manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Set up, operate, and monitor packaging machinery, including bottling, canning, and kegging lines, to ensure the efficient and accurate packaging of beverages. Perform equipment changeovers and minor adjustments to accommodate different packaging formats and product runs. Inspect packaged products for consistency in fill levels, label placement, seals, and overall appearance to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and address packaging defects, escalating issues to supervisors as needed. Ensure production targets are met by keeping the packaging line running efficiently with minimal downtime. Troubleshoot machinery issues and perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns. Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper handling of machinery and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the packaging line, equipment, and work area in accordance with health and safety regulations. Ensure adequate stock of packaging materials such as cans, bottles, labels, and kegs, as well as general supplies and communicate any discrepancies to the Packaging Manager. Report material usage and any discrepancies to the Packaging Manager for proper inventory management. Accurately log production data, including batch numbers, packaging counts, and quality control checks. Assist in tracking packaging yields, waste, and material usage to optimize performance and reduce waste. Work closely with the Brewing, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless product flow and resolve any packaging-related issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS



Education & Experience:



High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a packaging or production environment, preferably in beverage or food industries. Experience operating and maintaining packaging equipment is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:



Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment. Ability to operate and monitor complex machinery in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage production and inventory accurately.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Full-time position Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with occasional evening or weekend shifts as needed This is an in-person position Must stand for extended periods of time Must regularly lift and maneuver weights of 50lbs or more
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
