Role: Packaging Operator 1
Location: 1025 Boulevard Marcel Laurin, Saint-Laurent, Quebec, CAN H4R 1J6
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: 1, 2, 3
Candidates must be available to work any shift, as the shifts can frequently change.
Job Summary

  • Must ensure compliance with quality rules by following GMP regulations, corporate policies and compliance standards during operations.
  • Ensures quality compliance by implementing and maintaining GMP regulations and Corporate policies and conformance standards throughout the operations where applicable
  • In accordance with established policies, directives, procedures, manufacturing and packaging sheets and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, health, safety and environmental prevention measures and the Montreal site's business procedures/processes
The main tasks of the warehouse operator are:
  • Receive, prepare and supply raw materials, components, bulk and finished products as well as ensure their distribution.
  • The tasks of the warehouse operator include all tasks of cleaning, receiving, sampling, handling of components, bulk and raw materials and distribution.
  • The following tasks are performed in accordance with established policies, directives, procedures, manufacturing and packaging sheets and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, health, safety and environmental protection measures and business procedures/processes at the Montreal site.
Level 1 (The Level 1 operator will be called upon to perform a grouping of tasks among the following tasks)
  • Driving Trolleys (Walkie, Gerber, Counterbalanced, Dock Stocker)
  • Pallet Reversal
  • Pallet washing
  • Care and maintenance of work equipment and tools
  • Unpacking and cleaning of equipment
  • Handling of goods
  • Material labeling
  • Material Packing & Pallet Packing
  • Verification and identification of equipment
  • Physical inventory count
  • Delivery of goods (pallet movement)
  • Truck loading and unloading.
  • Truck Checking and Inspection
  • Movement of waste and recycling
  • Weight sheet printing
  • Manual documentation
  • Execution of basic computer transactions (including VL31N)
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Training of colleagues
  • May be called upon to participate in team committees if required (e.G., HSE, operational excellence, CCM, special projects, job evaluation, etc.)
  • May be called upon to perform training follow-up tasks (updating training curriculums, associating modules, updating procedures, etc.)
Level 2 (May be called upon to perform Level 1 tasks from time to time) (The Level 2 operator will be required to perform a grouping of tasks among the following tasks)
  • Driving turret trolleys for regular or Push back pallet racking
  • Order assembly (Export, Packaging, bulk, Raw materials, MRPO and Subcontractor)
  • Confirmation of receipt of goods in the system (MIGO)
  • Order Shipment Confirmation in System
  • Inventory management
  • Management of batch statuses
  • Ordering of non-inventoried equipment
  • Management and Transaction of Pharmaceutical Waste
  • Management of returns
  • External warehouse management
  • Gas and Chemical Management
  • Label printing (shelf-pack)
  • Reconciliation of cycle counts
  • Execution of more complex computer transactions, including data entry
  • Material sampling
  • Verification that the instruments and equipment are adequate for their intended use and that they are within the calibration period.
  • Verification of the criteria for the acceptability of the analyses, comparison with the established limits
  • Responsible for stopping any activity and notifying the manager in the event of a problem.
  • Verification and documentation of the quality of raw materials and/or components during sampling
  • Execution of simple analyses during sampling according to planning tools and business needs.
  • Training of colleagues
  • May be called upon to participate in team committees if required (e.G. HSE, operational excellence, CCM, special projects, job evaluation, etc.)
  • May be called upon to perform training follow-up tasks (updating training curriculums, associating modules, updating procedures, etc.)
Level 3 (May be called upon to perform Level 1 and 2 tasks on occasion)
  • Coordination of the receipt and shipment of subcontractors' orders, priority management and follow-up execution
  • Coordination of colleagues' holidays and holidays

Diploma, Experience Required Business needs
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Successful completion of theoretical and practical forklift operator training
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license - Knowledge of GMP (an asset)
  • 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related field (an asset)

Physical Requirements
  • Levels 1 and 2 (very frequent/frequent), level 3 (frequent/infrequent)
  • Work in a prolonged standing position with movement, in a squatting/kneeling position, in a sitting position (occasional). Handle, push-pull various loads requiring physical effort.
  • Driving an electric forklift/pallet truck
Work Environment
  • Cohabitation of forklifts/pallet trucks-pedestrians.
  • Working at height (turret forklifts).
  • Use of WHMIS hazardous products;PPE required, or handling/storage of hazardous products.
  • Space constraint/tight spaces.
  • Thermal stress during outdoor travel.
