About the role
.
Our Prepared Foods plant in Florenceville-Bristol has an exciting new permanent full-time Packaging Operator role available on our Pockets team. This role works on a 3 week rotation including days, evening and night shifts.
What you'll be doing.
Deal with production/packaging issues, working in a fast-paced team environment.
Coach packaging operators on fundamental operation of packaging equipment.
Development of junior operators: sharing knowledge and operations knowledge to develop others.
Follow JHA's and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations).
Work in a temperature controlled environment (between 5 and 8 C).
Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment. Maintaining a neat work area, as well as a daily housekeeping report of the area. Report and eliminate condensation.
Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
Complete core curriculum E-learning courses.
Incumbent will be required to cross-train and help break other positions when necessary.
Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues.
Operates all of the equipment associated with the carton former/wrapper.
Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain packaging equipment.
Fill out paperwork and entering data on computer accurately and efficiently.
Ensure SQCDME targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI's.
What you'll need to be successful.
Grade 12 education or GED3.
Basic computer skills would be an asset.
Must be able to work shift work including weekend with minimal supervision.
Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees.
Team player with excellent attendance.
Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations.
Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly.
Must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
Pushing, pulling and lifting of 15- 20kgs.
Ability to learn to perform some autonomous maintenance activities (inspection, lubrication etc).
Joint health and Safety Committee experience an asset.
