Position Title: Packaging OperatorPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time \xe2\x80\x8bPosition Location: Florenceville PotatoRequisition ID: 29346McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a FT Packaging Operator.Qualifications:o Grade 12 or GEDo Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basiso Knowledge of computer operations an asseto Experience with packaging machinery desirableo Must be mechanically inclined and able to withstand heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs. unassisted)o Ability to work with minimal supervisiono Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsiblyo Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operationso Successful completion of training periodo Must be willing to cross-train on other packaging equipmentDuties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:o Set up of machinery (includes computerized equipment)o Changeover of machineryo Operation of machineryo Upkeep of tool shadow boards and changeover cartso Quality checks of machine operations and materialso Cleaning of work areao Attend team meetings when requiredo Must follow \xe2\x80\x9cGood Manufacturing Practices\xe2\x80\x9d (GMP\'s)o Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI\'so Filling out paperwork accuratelyo Ensure product codes are correcto Other duties as assignedApplicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate \xe2\x80\x9csafety first.\xe2\x80\x9d Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate\'s suitability to the position.
