Job Description

Summary

Tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as machine changeover, filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

1. Machine changeover, replace and install new tooling, Allergen wash and swab and web replacement.

2. Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.

3. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.

4. Complete all appropriate paper work. Pay attention to details.

5. Makes adjustment or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, filler speed, filler rev, filler acc, agitator speed, thermal printer, or clearing away damaged product containers.

6. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.

7. Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.

8. Replenishes packaging supplies such as web, shipper, cartons, box skid liner, glue, ink, bottles, lids, labels or shipper labels.

9. Keep your machine and work area clean at all times.

Non-Essential Functions

Perform other similar or related duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

1. High school, or equivalent, education.

2. Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.

3. Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing and have good mathematical skills.

Work Environment

Exposure to loud environment, airborne particles with strong odors associated with spicy food ingredients and cold, hot wet and humid conditions. Walking and standing on concrete for 8 to 12 hours a day. Climbing steps, ladders and working on elevated surfaces. Exposure to fast paced production lines working 8 to 12-hour shifts.

Pay: $23.75 per hour
