Summary: To oversee all packaging areas to ensure product is to customer satisfaction and packaged on time. It is the Packaging Leads responsibility to manage the packaging team in order to facilitate efficient and safe operations of the packaging department.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Input and record accurate packaging data to track on time and efficient cut changes
• Quality \xe2\x80\x93 Is the product on hold? Make sure re-checks are taken to QC
• Manage packaging team

• Ensure operators are doing their tests. Giveaways, metal checks etc.
• Check that consumption is being done
• Make sure operators are kept up to date on training and procedures
• Communicate cut changes and keep team organized for efficient and effective changeovers
• Manages the team to maintain good housekeeping in all packaging areas
• Should be able to deal with disciplinary or corrective actions when necessary

• Check for rework and make plans to manage distressed inventory
• Utilize SAP to check for consumption errors
• Must use SAP, WMS, Citrix, PI, Factory Talk, Manual Logger, and be proficient with email and other computer programs
• Be able to communicate equipment issues throughout packaging and work closely with maintenance to resolve
• Understand what impacts packaging can have on recovery and overall bottom line costs to the facility
• Works closely with Production Supervision.
• Ensures all documentation is accurate and filled out appropriately
• Should be able to perform well under pressure and have a drive to better the team and the facility

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Must have proven history of safe work habits and drive this across the team
• Familiar OCAP and basic computer skills.
• High School Graduate
• Able to exercise good judgment in making decisions relative to the operation of a production line.
• Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.
• Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills
• Thorough understanding of WHMIS, plant sanitation requirements, industrial chemicals, and HACCP and AIB Gold standards.
• Able to work in extremely varied temperatures
• Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be an effective leader, capable of organizing an entire team and developing growth and cross training plans to strengthen team
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
• Must be willing to work in a team based atmosphere.

Required Length, Type of Experience and Licences

• Must be willing to successfully complete Confined Space & Rescue, Forklift, Scissor lift, Emergency First Aid, fire watch and fire extinguisher training. Must be able to operate this equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Minimum of 2 years packaging experience

Physical Requirements

• Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting up to 70lbs
