We are currently hiring a Packager to join the team at our Wynyard facility in Wynyard, SK.

Compass Minerals' Wynyard Mechanical Evaporation Plant is located on Big Quill Lake. The plant is Canada's largest producer of sulfate of potash (SOP). The site uses two unique processes to produce SOP: ion exchange process and glaserite process. SOP from this site is used for the pharmaceutical, medical, food and fertilizer industries, and other industrial uses.



The Wynyard Plant is located right on Big Quill Lake, in a friendly community of 1,800, situated 50 minutes from the city of Humboldt and a 2-hour drive from Saskatoon.

How will you contribute to the team?

This position reports to the Production Supervisor, and works alongside other operator and maintenance personnel, to accomplish plant production objectives.



To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


Various clean up duties and sanitation of areas assigned by supervisor. Assist in the operation and cleaning of dust collection equipment. Operating overhead mobile equipment. Operation of production lines including: form/fill bagger, tote fill, manual and automated wrapping equipment. Occasionally help in the maintenance department. Able to safely and adequately complete janitorial tasks Perform small maintenance tasks. Responsible for the safe handling and storage of all finished product. Accurately complete all production and inventory reporting paperwork. Responsible for magnet and screen checks when assigned. Monitor and supply starch for granulation. Perform water quality tests on boiler and water treatment operations. Other duties as assigned.

what sould you bring to the role?

The successful candidate will have:


Minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma Previous work experience in a process-related industry, knowledgeable about process equipment and control systems, and flexible to different task assignments. Previous experience operating a Forklift is considered an asset. Ability to multi-task, have a high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, repair and resolve issues related to the position is considered an asset. Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel Have a valid class 5 driver's license.
