Job Summary:

The Package Handler role is a physical fast-paced and labour-intensive role that involves sorting/packing of boxes, as well as physical loading and unloading them into and out of loading areas, and preparing boxed materials for shipment. This will be a part-time, on-call role. Work as needed, perfect for someone looking for flexible, occasional hours.

Responsibilities:

Unload and load boxes onto or from delivery vehicles, pallets, storage facilities and loading areas. Updates supervisor(s) on conditions during the sort so operation efficiency decisions can be made. Learn and properly execute established package handling methods. Support supervisor with accurate information to complete inventory records. Sort and label boxes based on shipping information provided. Stack finished boxes in designated areas and/or on skids.

Requirements:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for safely lifting, carrying, and moving boxes weighing up to 70 lbs. Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods. Ability to read and interpret numbers and information to sort packages correctly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. Warehouse/packing experience is an asset. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Must have a reliable method of transportation. Must be dependable, trustworthy and value accountability
