Job Summary

The Overnight Produce Associate plays a key role in preparing the produce department for the next day. Working during overnight hours, this role focuses on restocking, organizing, and maintaining produce displays to ensure freshness and quality for customers in the morning. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to creating a clean and well-stocked produce section.

Duties

Restock and rotate produce items to ensure shelves are full and displays are attractive for opening hours. Check produce quality, remove spoiled or damaged items, and follow food safety standards. Organize and set up produce displays to meet merchandising guidelines. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and displays to uphold health and safety requirements. Unload and move produce shipments using equipment (e.g., pallet jack or forklift if certified). Accurately track stock levels and report shortages to supervisors. Communicate effectively with the day team to ensure smooth handoff of department operations. Safely lift and move heavy boxes of produce (up to 40+ lbs).

Qualifications

Previous experience in a produce department or retail environment (preferred). Ability to work overnight shifts and maintain productivity with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills to coordinate with team members. Food Handler Certificate (preferred). Able to lift heavy boxes (40+ lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment. Forklift or equipment certification (an asset). Commitment to food safety and excellent standards in produce presentation.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.85-$18.20 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
