At the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA), our mission is to support and empower foster families, ensuring every child has access to a safe and nurturing home environment. Currently, we are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Overnight Childcare Worker to join our team in Pelly, SK.
Position Overview:
As an Overnight Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for providing overnight support to a foster home, ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of children during the night. Your duties will include meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining a secure and clean environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and adaptability are essential qualities for success in this role. We are seeking someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and youth in care.
Key Responsibilities:
Remain awake and alert throughout all working hours to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care.
Adhere to and ensure compliance with the home's Fire Safety Plan, maintaining a safe working environment.
Conduct regular room checks and accurately document completed tasks.
Attend to childcare needs during overnight hours, providing support as required.
Perform basic housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and kitchen maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and throughout the home.
Properly dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the home.
Qualifications:
Previous childcare experience or relevant education (Early Childhood Education or Youth Care Worker preferred but not mandatory).
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with children, supervisors, and partner agencies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Criminal record check (issued within the past 3 months).
