Camp Nurse - Camp Lionheart
Location: Camp Lionheart, Bracebridge ON
Position Type: Seasonal | Overnight Shifts
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Overnight Camp Nurse to work in our infirmary at an overnight camp serving children and teens with medical and/or behavioral support needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, comfort with medication management, and the ability to provide calm, confident care during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely administer scheduled, PRN, and emergency medications in accordance with physician orders and parent instructions
Conduct nursing assessments for medical concerns, illness, injury, or behavioral escalation during overnight hours
Provide appropriate nursing interventions, including first aid, symptom management, and monitoring of ongoing medical conditions
Care for and monitor campers staying overnight in the infirmary, including documentation of observations and interventions
Respond to medical or behavioral incidents overnight and collaborate with on-site physicians and camp leadership as needed
Accurately document medication administration, assessments, and nursing care in accordance with camp and regulatory requirements
Communicate effectively with daytime nursing staff to ensure continuity of care
Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive infirmary environment for campers with diverse needs
Follow all camp policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols
Qualifications:
Current RN or RPN current license with no restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Experience working with pediatric populations and/or individuals with medical complexity or behavioral needs strongly preferred
Comfort with medication administration, including multiple daily meds and PRNs
Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions overnight
Ability to work in a team setting and communicate and collaborate effectively
Strong documentation, communication, and de-escalation skills
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)

Day shifts and Night shifts
Competitive seasonal compensation
Room and board provided
2 Independent Sessions:
Aug 2-13: $1000-$2500
Aug 16-25: $1000-$2000
