AGR Rebar is currently seeking a crane operator.

Here's what you need to know about the role:

Full-time, permanent position; Evening shift, Monday to Friday, 2:30 to 11 PM; Starting salary at $26.96 per hour

Main Responsibilities:

Operate machines safely and be aware of risks and procedures involved when working in a rebar shop; Operating the cranes within the production plant; Safely loading and unloading trucks, stacking materials safely where they belong and by maintaining a clean organized work area; Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other team members; Work on machines cutting and bending rebar; Clean machines and work areas; Regular inspection of machines prior to the start of shift, immediately identifying any machinery irregularity and reporting directly to the maintenance technician to reduce the cost/risk of machinery downtime; Act in compliance with AGF's Health & Safety policies following the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Other duties as assigned;

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing; Experience in operating an overhead OR tower crane ; Basic math/measurement skills (an asset); Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment; Ability to work physically - lift/move up to 50lbs; Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work; Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork.
