Outside Sales and Service Representative

About the Position

Based in Northeast Nova Scotia, this full-time, permanent position is responsible for the execution and maintenance of on-site vendor managed inventory (VMI) services and customer support for MacGregors Industrial Group. This role is a key contributor to client satisfaction and operational efficiency across the Industrial Sales division.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

1. Manage all aspects of on-site inventory control including bolt bins, tool cribs, supply cabinets, and other client-specific setups with attention to cleanliness, accuracy, and consistency.

2. Serve as the primary service contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring regular, professional, and solution-focused interactions.

3. Develop and maintain a routine service schedule to visit client locations and monitor, replenish, and improve VMI setups.

4. Identify business growth opportunities with clients and work to grow business with the customers you serve

5. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate product delivery, timely restocking, and resolution of inventory or product issues.

6. Support cross-functional communication to facilitate requests from clients for other MacGregors divisions.

7. Contribute feedback and suggestions to continuously improve VMI service processes and client experience.

1. Be customer-facing on a regular basis, maintaining a visible and proactive presence at client sites.

2. Demonstrate a service-first mindset, prioritizing responsiveness, reliability, and relationship-building.

3. Represent MacGregors as a trusted partner, focusing on operational support.

4. Collaborate with internal staff to ensure accurate inventory data collection and service documentation.

5. Provide basic product training and usage guidance as required to support client needs.

6. Collaborate with vendor reps and sales agents for joint sales calls and demonstrations.

Key Skills, Capabilities & Experience:

1. Prior experience in vendor managed inventory (VMI), customer service, or industrial supply support is strongly preferred.

2. High attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness in managing physical inventory environments.

3. Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with clients in a variety of settings.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other inventory management systems.

5. Ability to work independently while remaining connected to a support team.

6. Valid driver's license and clean abstract required.
