Job Description
AGILIS Networks, a division of Greater Sudbury Utilities, connects businesses and communities in Barrie and Sudbury, with fibre-based telecommunications infrastructure and services by building connections for life. We are growing and currently looking to add an energetic team member whose values match ours for the following position;
OUTSIDE PLANT TECHNICIAN \xe2\x80\x93 Barrie Depot
The successful candidate requires the following:
- a two-year college diploma in a technical program or equivalent.
- relevant experience in a telecommunications industry, approximately four (4) to five (5) years.
- Some overnight travel is required.
- the ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with customers and outside agencies.
- possession of a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
- the ability to work from blueprints, sketches, technical manuals, specifications or reports.
- is familiar with the Electrical Safety Code for Ontario, Technical Standards & Safety Authority and the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
- has excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Working at heights is a requirement.
- Knowledge of splicing would be an asset.
- Knowledge of 48-volt DC
- Knowledge of telecom locating
