Provide crisis intervention and support services to clients
Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the shelter property
Maintaining a respectful, empathetic and non-judgmental approach towards clients
Identify potential weapons and safety violations from entering shelter
Redirect clients to appropriate spaces
Prevention and redirecting loiterers
Maintain noise levels and language in line with neighbourhood acceptance
Maintain and redirect unwanted and/or unnecessary client belongings
Control non-shelter visitors and/or contraband sales and distribution
Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas
Acting as an ambassador of the client site by creating a presence that builds a safe and welcoming environment for all
Providing highly visible presence and professionalism with the ability to react in multiple scenarios
Enforcement of the Trespass to Property Act
This is an outside position. Weekdays and Weekends. Day and Night shifts.
Skills/Qualifications:
Strong coordination and organizational skills.
Ability to build relationships with individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds in many different environments.

Ability to work independently and in partnerships.
Strong knowledge of social service systems (rent supplements, funding) and community programs.

Knowledge of evidenced based harm reduction principles.
