Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team in the Northern Okanagan to cover a territory that spans from Lake Country to Enderby and Westwold to Kamloops. Ideal candidate will have experience in agriculture irrigation and a passion for sales and building new customer relationships.


You will play a pivotal role in identifying and capitalizing on irrigation equipment sales opportunities as well as Irrigation and Pump sales opportunities in the territory. Primary focus will be Agriculture but can be expanded to pump and motor sales.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:



Develop and implement territory coverage plans to expand our customer base and to help our group gain market share across a given territory within the Okanagan-Thompson regions. Conduct site visits, assessments, and consultations to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and services. Gain expertise in pivot irrigation systems, hose reels, and wheel line irrigation systems to provide solutions to customers' needs. Share a monthly calendar of your planned territory coverage to ensure efficient use of time and company expenses when covering the territory. Identify and cultivate relationships with ranchers, farmers, agricultural associations, and industry partners. Prepare and deliver quotations, sales presentations, and assist our Irrigation designer with design proposals. Negotiate sales agreements with customers, ensuring favorable terms for both parties. Gain knowledge of our drip irrigation systems being utilized in other crop industries like vineyards and orchards to offer sales assistance in the territory as needed. Gain knowledge of the pump industry to be able to offer assistance within your territory. Collaborate with internal Delta teams to coordinate project design, delivery, installation, and after-sales support. Perform on site PDI and startup, minor repairs and adjustments to some of the Irrigation products you sell in the spirit of helping customers out and having successful deliveries. Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, cattle sales, and gather opportunities of your customer base where new contacts can be made, and new leads established. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, finance options, and government funding opportunities to maintain a competitive edge. Maintain accurate records of your sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress using company CRM Software and Microsoft tools. Provide ongoing reporting of monthly sales activity and sales efforts, record of your customer visits and territory coverage, competitors' activity, wins and losses for the month etc.

Qualifications:



Proven experience in sales, preferably in the Irrigation or Agricultural sector. Knowledge of Agriculture irrigation systems and related technologies. Strong communication, negotiation, and Road Warrior skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and working as part of our team. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout a large territory. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools is considered an asset. A bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or a related field is considered an asset.
