Employment Type: Part-time 8h a week
Schedule:

Tuesday to Friday: 6:30 am to 8:30 am.


This position follows a fixed schedule based on the individual's support needs. Shifts are not flexible or negotiable.

Job Overview



We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach Support Worker to join our team. This Part-time position provides 1:1 support to an individual living in the Dallas area of Kamloops. The successful candidate will work in the individual's home, supporting their morning routines, life skills, and personal peri-care and hygiene before they depart for day program.

The individual lives with a roommate who receives separate support from a Live-In Support Worker. This role focuses solely on providing personalized care to the individual, ensuring their needs are met with dignity, consistency, and respect.

Support begins early in the morning and includes assistance with dressing, grooming, hygiene tasks (such as brushing teeth) and preparing for the day ahead. The individual attends a day program during the week, and another support worker arrives at the home to accompany them to program. The Outreach Support Worker provides care and support prior to their departure, helping to create a calm and positive start to the day.

Reliability, punctuality, and a respectful approach to personal care are essential. Ability to pick up extra hours should day program duties fall through and will be regularly working on statutory holidays from 7:00 am to 9:00pm.

Duties



Providing personalized support to adult with diverse abilities. Provide personal care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for Persons Served by performing light housekeeping duties. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and document Persons Served' health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement. Uphold confidentiality and respect the dignity of each client at all times.

Job Requirements

A valid Driver's License A safe, reliable vehicle that can be used for work Safe driving history Valid First Aid Certificate (can be obtained within 2 weeks of employment) Clear Criminal Record Check (processed within our office) Medical clearance TB test (to be completed within probationary period) Must be permitted to work at least 24 hours a week on an ongoing basis
