The Outreach and Support Officer provide essential operational and external support to the

Housing Department. This position is responsible for administering and coordinating the logistics of key housing programs, including tracking grant milestones, assisting with necessary documentation, and providing detailed progress updates. The Specialist also facilitates and executes community outreach by arranging, delivering, and presenting public information sessions, workshops, and campaigns. Ultimately, the role ensures overall departmental efficiency by managing all comprehensive administrative duties, handling scheduling, processing detailed financial documentation, and maintaining meticulous records.

What you will do:



o Develop programmatic and communications materials to present to the community.

o Submitting monthly progress reports to the Housing Manager on program activities, progress, outcomes, and milestones reached.

o Spearheading direct collaboration and partnership development with internal and external stakeholder councils and community groups to encourage engagement in housing initiatives.

o Coordinating community events (information sessions), public outreach, and education initiatives regarding GRFN housing programs and services.

o Acting as an advocate for Indigenous housing opportunities within the community and with external partners.

o Researching and designing key strategies with appropriate training/consulting support,

including (but not limited to): a Community Engagement Strategy; a Housing Development Strategy; a Knowledge Mobilization Strategy (documentary film), etc.

o Liaising with community partners & stakeholders (Education, Aboriginal Skills Training, Niigaaniin, GR Child and Family Services, ERCD, etc.) on a variety of housing projects.

o Attending training opportunities to increase knowledge of and comfort with Indigenous housing projects.

o Working closely with the Housing Manager and other stakeholders for guidance, support, and training.

o Attending all housing meetings, discussions, and training, contributing strategic and community perspectives to all GRFN housing projects.

What you can bring to the role:



Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Public Relations, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in an executive assistant, administrative support, or program coordination role.

Knowledge, understanding and experience of First Nation culture, values, and traditions

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word for document formatting, Excel for basic financial tracking/reporting, PowerPoint for presentation preparation), and Outlook.

Ability to implement and maintain organized digital and physical filing systems in compliance with organizational policies and privacy standards.

Superior written and verbal communication skills for composing professional correspondence, drafting reports, and accurately recording meeting minutes.

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding sensitive housing, financial, and personnel information.

Must undergo a criminal records check prior to employment.
